Supporting the NIJ Grant to Address the Prescription Opioid and Heroin Abuse Epidemic
Thank you for considering Esri in your grant proposal submission to the NIJ Research and Evaluation on Drugs and Crime FY 2017 [PDF], a nationally funded program to combat the opioid and heroin abuse epidemic affecting our communities.
The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) seeks proposals for research on drug intelligence and community surveillance to identify reliable data and provide recommendations on how data collection and data sharing efforts can be improved to support law enforcement response to this rapidly growing epidemic.
Esri is supporting eligible NIJ grant winners through a software donation that will provide geospatial technology to map and analyze data that will assist law enforcement in taking steps to stop opioid abuse.
The Esri donation, valued at $40,500, will be awarded to the winning agencies that download our letter of intent. This donation includes one-year licenses of each of the following:
- ArcGIS Desktop Advanced
- ArcGIS Enterprise Standard
- ArcGIS GeoEvent Server
- Insights for ArcGIS (5 users)
- ArcGIS Online (50 users)
The ongoing maintenance of the technology would be the responsibility of the recipient after the one-year period.
